SAK is the First American Artist Featured by the Official Mozart Museum and Residence
July 6, 2014 / Salzburg, Austria – American Pop Art, Inc. is proud to present the honorary painting “Mozart State II,” a portrait of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart created in 1997 by the late American pop artist Steve Alan Kaufman (SAK) as a new, permanent addition to the Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum, the official Mozart museum and residence in Salzburg, Austria. Steve Kaufman is the first American artist to achieve this prestigious honor. An opening night celebration will be held on July 30, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Mozart Residence, Makartplatz 8, 5020 Salzburg, Österreich, Austria.

Diana Vachier was recently named the sole heir to artist Steve Kaufman’s licensing rights.
The addition of Mozart State II 1997 to the Mozarteum was made possible by Dr. Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg, president of The Mozarteum Foundation; Dr. Gabriele Ramsauer, director of the Mozart museums; the Salzburger Mozarteum Foundation; and Diana Vachier, Dr. Alberto Panizzoli, and Eberhard Bachmaier of American Pop Art, Inc. and Steve Kaufman Art Licensing LLC.
Steve Kaufman is remembered as a great activist and a generous humanitarian. After serving as a young assistant to Andy Warhol, Steve Kaufman left The Factory at the end of the 1970s to continue his path of reinterpreting and refining the typical techniques of pop art. Steve Kaufman created his own style through the process of hand embellishment, giving life to his famous “icons” that appealed to audiences worldwide.
Steve Kaufman’s tremendous passion for art made him look backwards into history before he would proceed forward. He was deeply moved by the brilliance of the great masters of the past, art, music, and literature. In the mid 1990s, Steve Kaufman wanted to show his respect to those who preceded him and greatly influenced his life. And so, he did a series of paintings that included Leonardo Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Vincent Van Gogh, Beethoven, Shakespeare, and one of his most beloved paintings, Mozart.
Steve Kaufman paintings have been exhibited in numerous museums including The Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art in Slovakia; the Reiss-Engelhorn Museum in Mannheim, Germany; The Museum of Contemporary Art in Hot Springs, AR; The Motown Historical Museum in Detroit, MI; the Blues & Legends Hall of Fame Museum in Memphis, TN; The American Sport Art Museum & Archives in Daphne, AL; The Pop Culture Gallery at The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta GA; the Palazzo Costanzi in Trieste, Italy; Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari (House of Ferrari Museum) in Modena, Italy; Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum (Mozart Museum) in Salzburg, Austria; and several U.S. presidential libraries.

SAK ist der erste amerikanische Künstler, dessen Werk im Mozartmuseum (Wohnhaus) präsentiert wird.
American-Popart Inc., ist stolz, das Kunstwerk „Mozart State II“, ein Porträt von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, welches 1997 vom amerikanischen Pop-Art-Künstler Steve Alan Kaufman (SAK) geschaffen wurde, in der Sammlung des internationalen Mozarteums, dem Mozartmuseum (Wohnhaus) in Salzburg/Österreich, präsentieren zu dürfen. Steve Kaufman ist der erste amerikanische Künstler, dem diese Ehre zu Teil wird. Am 30 Juli 2014 um 18 Uhr findet in Mozarts Wohnhaus, Makartplatz 8, 5020 Salzburg/Österreich, die Übergabe des Gemäldes im Rahmen einer feierlichen Veranstaltung statt.
Die Aufnahme des Mozart State II (1997) in die Sammlung des Mozarteums wurde durch Dr. Johannes Honsig-Erlenburg, Präsident der Mozarteum-Stiftung, Dr. Gabriele Ramsauer, Direktorin der Stiftung des Salzburger Mozartmuseums, Diana Vachier, Dr. Alberto Panizzoli und Eberhard Bachmaier von American-Popart Inc. und Steve Kaufman Art Licensing LLC möglich gemacht
An Steve Kaufman erinnert man sich aufgrund seiner Großzügigkeit und seines Aktivismus‘. Nachdem er als junger Assistent bei Andy Warhol gelernt hatte, verließ er sein großes Vorbild Ende der 70er Jahre und begann die typischen Techniken des Pop-Arts zu verfeinern und neu zu interpretieren. Steve Kaufman entwickelte eine besondere Handtechnik, durch welche er seinen Werken Leben einhauchte und ihnen seinen ganz besonderen und eigenen Stil verlieh. Diese ihm eigene und außergewöhnliche Handschrift ist dem heutigen Publikum
weltweit bekannt.
Steve Kaufmans Leidenschaft und Kreativität führten ihn in viele Kunstrichtungen. Dabei schuf er neben ikonischen Bildern des 20. Jahrhunderts auch Gemälde zu den großen Meistern vergangener Jahrhunderte.
Er sagte, man müsse erst zurückblicken, um vorwärts schreiten zu können.
Was ihn zutiefst bewegte, war die Brillanz der großen, vergangenen Meister aus Kunst, Musik und Literatur. Mitte der 90er fertigte er als Hommage an diese Künstlerpersönlichkeiten, die ihn in seinem Leben und künstlerischem Schaffen geprägt und beeinflusst hatten, mit großer Leidenschaft eine Serie farbenprächtiger Gemälde an.
Dabei schuf Steve Kaufman eine Reihe von Gemälden zu Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Beethoven, Shakespeare und dem großen Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Diana Vachier, Steve Kaufmans persönliche Sekretärin und Vertraute, die kürzlich zur Alleinerbin der Steve Kaufman Lizenzrechte bestimmt wurde, spricht über die Aufnahme eines Steve Kaufman Werkes in die Mozarteum-Stiftung folgendermaßen:
„Steve kann diesen ehrenvollen Abend leider nicht gemeinsam mit uns erleben, was mich zutiefst bedrückt, aber ich weiß, dass er im Geist hier bei uns ist. Ich denke, dass er glücklich und geehrt wäre. Es ist unfassbar, was für ein Erfolg es ist, als erster amerikanischer Künstler in diese Sammlung aufgenommen zu werden. Ich bin so glücklich und stolz auf ihn. Das ist wie ein Traum.“ Diana Vachier
Die Gemälde von Steve Kaufman befinden sich im Andy Warhol Museum of Modern Art (Slowakai), im Reiss-Engelhorn-Museum (Mannheim, Deutschland), in der Pop Culture Gallery – World of Coca Cola (Atlanta, USA), im Museum of Contemporary Art (Hot Springs, USA), im Motown Historical Museum (Detroit, USA), im the Blues & Legends Hall of Fame Museum (Memphis, USA), im American Sport Art Museum & Archives (Daphne, USA), im Palazzo Costanzi (Trieste, Italien), in der permanenten Ausstellung mit dem Titel „Pure Pop Art“ (Galicien, Spanien), im Museum von Enzo di Ferrari (Modena, Italien), in zwei präsidialen Bibliotheken und nun auch im Museum „Mozarts Wohnhaus“ (Salzburg, Österreich).
